Vladivostok, March 16, 2020. – Vladivostok International Airport reports the launch of direct regular flight of All Nippon Airways airline to Tokyo (Narita). This is the second Japanese air carrier that started flights to Vladivostok this year.

Japanese air carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) commenced flight operations between Vladivostok and Tokyo. The capital of the Russian Far East became the first Russian destination of the airline.

The aircraft of the new air carrier landed in the air harbour of Primorye ahead of schedule at 01:50 p.m. On the terminal ramp, the first flight was given a red carpet welcome from media representatives, aviation photographers (spotters) and bloggers. They caught on their photo and video cameras the moment when the aircraft wearing a bright livery touched the land of Primorye.

In the airport terminal, the first passengers were greeted with “bread and salt” according to an old Russian tradition, and all passengers departing from the air harbour of Primorye to Tokyo were given promotional gifts from the representatives of tourist information centre and airline. The official ceremony of opening of the first flight was attended by the representatives of the Government of Primorsky region, top managers of the airline and Vladivostok International Airport.

Andrey Vinichenko, interim Director General of Vladivostok International Airport:

- We are glad to greet the All Nippon Airways company as a new regular partner of our airport. The representatives of ANA several times visited Vladivostok during fam tours, met the managers of the airport services and regional tour businesses and got acquainted with the sights and infrastructure of our city. I am sure that expansion of the Russian-Japanese route network and tourist exchange between two countries in future will help to strengthen the business cooperation of Russia and Japan.

It is worth reminding that the simplified visa regime was introduced for Japanese citizens. To visit Primorsky region, the visitors from the Land of the Rising Sun may apply for electronic visa.
