Vladivostok International Airport and Transaero Airlines came to an agreement about joint arrangements to prepare the airport to be available for Airbus A-380 aircraft.
Vladivostok International Airport and Transaero Airlines signed the agreement of intent to develop mutual cooperation with the view of implementation of the joint projects within the scope of the program for preparation of Vladivostok International Airport to be available for Airbus A-380 by the year 2015.
Receipt of admission to handling and regular operation of Airbus A-380 requires considerable preparation of the airport, - says Maxim Chetverikov, General Director of JSC «Vladivostok International Airport». - Check of readiness of the airport for reception of Airbus A-380 is conducted in a number of areas, such as aeronautical service, meteorological and radio-technical services, passenger transportation service, as well as checking the readiness of the buildings, special vehicles, technical supply of the airport and of course - staff. All these measures we are ready to fulfill will allow passengers to fly from Vladivostok on the world's largest airliner. According to our preliminary estimates the volume of investments into realization of this project is 200 million rubles.
It is planned that «Transaero» airlines Airbus A- 380 will be used on the Company’s line from Vladivostok to Moscow. This direction is currently one of the most popular among air passengers in Primorye. Its share in the total passenger traffic of the airport is about 40%. In General, JSC «Vladivostok International Airport» connects gaining admission to the reception of such aircraft as A-380 with the prospect of development of the route network of the airport and the rising level of passenger and airline service.
- Start of operation of the A380 is a significant step in the development of the airport. For JSC «VIA» it is very significant that this project is being implemented together with our oldest partner - «Transaero» airlines. I wish to notice, that the preparation for admission and handling of the aircraft is not the only option for our long-term cooperation. The carrier is currently considering our proposal for location of its aircrafts, such as Boeing-737, 767,777 at Vladivostok airport since 2014-2015, and their operation on the new routes, " - said Maxim Chetverikov.
According to General Director of JSC «Vladivostok International Airport», USA, Canada, Philippines, Indonesia and the cities within the limits of the far Eastern Federal district and Siberia are among the directions under discussion.
