Vladivostok airport welcomed “Tiger Flight”
Today, on September 12, 2016, the airport of Vladivostok met Flight No. 6481 operated by Rossiya Airlines painted as a tiger. The “Tiger Flight” made its first honorary flight to Far East in new paints to terminal of Primorye.
A two-deck Boeing 747-400 with a tiger face painted on its nose delivered passengers from Vnukovo airport to the capital of Primorye. The “Tiger Flight” was welcomed on the apron by representatives of the airport, Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “Amur Tiger Centre”, Rossiya Airlines, bloggers and media.
The aircraft wearing such original livery will operate the most asked-for routes to Far East cities and popular resorts in Russia. Rossiya Airlines traditionally gives personal names to its new aircrafts. The liner arriving today received the honorable name of “Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk”. It should be reminded that earlier, in June 2016, the air gateway of Primorye welcomed Rossiya Airlines’ liner named “Vladivostok”.
It should be pointed out that Vladivostok International Airport actively supports programs on rare animal protection. It has been participating in social events of this kind since 2013 and raising awareness among the general public of problems relating to conservation of rare feline species – Siberian tigers and Amur leopards. JSC “VIA” cooperates with the “Amur Tiger Centre”, “Land of the Leopard” and “Nature” Fund through organizing subject-matter photo exhibitions on the airport’s premises during several years.
Other significant events are “Tiger Flight” meeting ceremonies. It is worth reminding that the first “Tiger Flight” to Vladivostok airport was performed by Aurora Airlines in 2014. A picture of Siberian tiger was painted on its fuselage. Another “Tiger Flight” was performed by Transaero in 2015. The nose of its Boeing 747-400 was decorated with an image of Siberian tiger head.
