Vladivostok airport opens direct air service to Bangkok

JSC “Vladivostok International Airport” announced direct regular flights Vladivostok – Bangkok – Vladivostok. This service will be operated by S7 Airlines.

The maiden flight departed from Vladivostok airport on October 10 at 02:35 local time. It delivered 235 passengers to the capital of Thailand.

Flights will be performed once a week on Mondays. Travel time will be 7 hours. The air carrier will use a comfortable Boeing-767 with 240 seats on this route from Vladivostok for the first time.

- Tourism routes to Southeast Asia have become popular among Primorsky region air passengers since long ago. Previously, Far Easterners could fly to Thailand only by charter flights or regular flights with a transfer in hub airports of China, Korea and Japan, says Alexander Bobrov, Head of Commercial Department. – Now that we offer regular nonstop flights from Vladivostok to Bangkok, people can conveniently travel to the capital of Thailand without any stopovers in other airports. The new flight also allows for convenient connection flights from Bangkok which undoubtedly expands the spectrum of tourism opportunities for the citizens of Primorsky region and the whole Far East.


Passenger flow grew by 10% in Vladivostok airport in September

According to data for September 2016, Vladivostok airport handled 188,000 people which is 10% more than a year ago. The passenger flow in domestic and international routes was 138,000 (+4%) and 50,000 (+29%) passengers respectively. This figure for routes to/from China and South Korea grew 1.5 and 1.3 times respectively.
Largest growth was registered for the following routes: domestic lines – Novosibirsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Khabarovsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk; international lines – Seoul, Tianjin and Shanghai.
Leaders in terms of growth dynamic became: domestic lines – Chita (3 times), Krasnodar (2.3 times), Novosibirsk (1.8 times); international lines – Busan (+33%), Harbin (+30%) and Seoul (+28%).
A new route to Omsk was successfully launched in Vladivostok airport in September. IrAero Airlines started performing flights on the route Vladivostok – Irkutsk – Omsk.
Intra-regional routes to Primorsky region communities continue actively developing as well. On September 06, 2016, Aurora Airlines expanded the geography of its intra-regional routes by launching a new flight Vladivostok – Preobrazheniye operated by a DHC-6. In total, intra-regional passenger flow grew 18% in September.
According to data for 9 months of 2016, Vladivostok airport provided services to 1,404,000 passengers. In comparison with the same period of the last year, its total passenger flow grew by 7%. Domestic and international lines carried 983,000 and 421,000 (+24%) people respectively.
