Vladivostok Airport is ready to meet EEF participants
The Vladivostok International Airport has finalized its preparations to receiving guests and participants of the second Eastern Economic Forum.
During the first days of September 2016, Vladivostok will for the second time become a gateway to an important business event of the Far East – the Eastern Economic Forum. To date, more than 50 business jet flights have been declared for arrival including 15 international flights.
Accreditation areas and participants registration counters have been operating in the terminal since August 26 and all required navigation is in place. Volunteers were mobilized to improve quality of services for the forum participants in JSC “VIA” premises.
All airport functions operate in a robust security regime during preparations for and conduction of the forum, and an additional shift was organized. All special vehicles, process equipment, airfield infrastructure and airport terminal are ready to receive participants. Other passengers will be served under normal procedures.
It should be noted that JSC “VIA” has experience in receiving heads of states and official delegations. Vladivostok airport was handling large number of aircrafts with VIPs during the APEC summit meeting in 2012 and EEF in 2015.
By words of the Russian Ministry for development of the Russian Far East, more than two thousand persons from 32 countries have confirmed their participation in EEF. It is expected that it will be attended by participants from Japan, China, South Korea, India, Vietnam, Australia, Singapore and other countries.
Mean daily passenger flow in JSC “VIA” was 7,000 people in August 2016. Its record high was registered on August 12, 2016 when Vladivostok Airport handled 7,900 travelers. Given that the airport’s mean throughput capacity is about 9,500 passengers, it can be stated that JSC “VIA” is fully prepared for receiving EEF participants.
We remind that the second Eastern Economic Forum will be held on September 2-3 in the premises of the Far Eastern Federal University in Russky Island. In this year, the forum’s motto is “Opening up the Far East”. EEF will provide broad opportunities for communication between Russian and foreign business partners and for promotion of further integration of business structures into the Far East’s economy.
