The Day of Civil Aviation at Vladivostok Airport was celebrated by winter spotting

On February 09, 2016 winter aviaspotting took place in Vladivostok International Airport (JSC “VIA”), which was devoted to the 93rd anniversary of Civil aviation of Russia. Photographers, bloggers and mass media representatives took part in the formal event.

Fans of the aviation photos arrived at the Vladivostok International Airport from different corners of the territory: Nakhodka, Artem, Vladivostok, Ussuriysk. To celebrate the Day of Civil Aviation at an airfield is a real gift for spotters.

By tradition, both beginners and professionals took part in the event. Shootings went on ten hours, from morning to the late evening. In the first half of the day, an opportunity to take successful shots was given to the beginning camera men, and after lunch members of the “golden pool” of the airport joined them.

Let’s remind that members of the “golden pool” are the winners of art and photo contests, who have the priority right to participate in the subsequent aviaspottings, open-air sessions and other events held in the territory of Vladivostok Airport.

To be noticed is that the last time winter aviaspotting was carried out in 2013. Cold seaside winters didn't allow spotters to gather on the platform. February of this year was rather warm, and the day before snow dropped out in Vladivostok and photo hunting turned out to be real winter. To imprint planes and the airport against white snow was a great luck for photographers.

- I’ve been waiting for winter spotting very much. Rare shots of the airport in winter and in the evening cause genuine emotions. To congratulate pilots with a symbolic wave of the hand on the Day of Civil aviation right on the platform is an exceptional case in general, - said Alexander Savchenko, a member of the JSC “VIA” “golden pool”, a photographer and a blogger.

The event ended when the sun went down below the horizon. The shots with big winged birds in focus of the camera in the very middle of the sun disk at sunset turned out unique.

Participants of the spotting parted in good mood. The best photos will be presented at an exhibition in the air terminal complex of the airport in February, 2016 which will be dated to Birthday of Vladivostok Airport.
