Vladivostok Airport switches to summer flight schedule

On March 26, 2017 Vladivostok International Airport (JSC “VIA”) launches its summer flight schedule which will remain in effect till October 28, 2017.

During the coming summer season it will support flights on more than 40 domestic and international routes. A new season will increase chances of air travelers owing to growth of flights frequency along existing routes as well as renewal of flights along requested routes.

The most eagerly awaited novelty of a summer season on the international airlines will be regular flights by S7 Airlines to Osaka with a frequency of 2 times a week on A-320 aircrafts. A new air company Sichuan Airlines also has plans to appear with the flights to Harbin from Vladivostok airport, while Tianjin Airlines plans to resume flights to Tianjin. Ural Airlines will continue operating flights en-route Vladivostok - Changchun – Bangkok that were opened in winter, and NordStar – en-route Vladivostok – Sanya.

Seoul remains a leader among regular international destinations. In summer up to four daily flights will be operated to the capital of South Korea by Korean Air, Aurora and S7 Airlines.  Frequency of flights from Vladivostok to Tokyo (Narita Airport) in summer schedule will be increased up to daily flights to be operated by Aurora and S7 Airlines. Besides, the number of flights to Busan and Harbin will be increased, and traditional flights to Dalian, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Pyongyang, Tashkent, and Yanji will remain in summer schedule.

Charter program will be represented by popular tourism routes – Bangkok, Phuket, Cam Ranh.

On domestic airlines the flights between Vladivostok - Blagoveshchensk - Krasnoyarsk will be operated by Saratov Airlines. The flights will be operated twice a week on An-148 aircraft. Aurora air carrier will continue operating its new flight en-route Vladivostok - Komsomolsk-on-Amur on DHC 8-Q400 aircrafts.

The number of flights between Vladivostok and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk will grow to 4 each day. The number of flights en-routes Vladivostok - Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Vladivostok – Khabarovsk will considerably increase. Up to 19 flights will be operated on each of the routes mentioned. Besides, the number of flights to Novosibirsk will significantly increase – up to 16 flights a week, to Blagoveshchensk – up to 9 times a week, and to Yakutsk – up to 6 times a week. Increase of flights frequency has become possible thanks to extension of cooperation between JSC “VIA” and Aurora and S7 Airlines air carriers. Regular flight to Moscow will be operated by Aeroflot and Rossiya. All in all up to 21 flights to Moscow will be operated. Besides, the flights to Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Krasnodar, Magadan, St. Petersburg, Ulan Ude, and Chita will remain in operation.

A key carrier Aurora will operate up to 6 flights a day on intra-regional lines from Vladivostok to Kavalerovo, Plastun, Terney, Dalnerechensk, Dalnegorsk and Preobrazheniye.

According to the results of 2016 Vladivostok International Airport (JSC “VIA”) has become an absolute leader among the airports of the Far East and Eastern Siberia both in terms of international passenger flow and overall direct passenger flow. In 2016 the airport provided services to 1.85 mln passengers.  Its route network includes around 40 routes operated by leading Russian and foreign airlines. The airport is qualified for receiving all aircraft types and holds an ICAO Category II status. The level of comfort in its new terminal with capacity of 3.5 mln passengers corresponds to IATA Standard “C”.
